Thanks for your interest in becoming a member of the Rochester Curling Club!
The Club offers amples opportunity to curl for those new to the sport of curling, and those with many years of experience, from ages 6 to 99 (or more!). The club is a great community to be part of, as is the overall curling community. Part of what makes the club so great is that it is a all volunteer organization. Members run all aspects of the club. As such, all members are expected to give back to the club, by contributing 10 hours of their time a year volunteering for the club. Fulfiling this 10 hour commitment is easy as there is always many ways for members to contribute to the club.
Adults
Any individual 18 year or older may join the club and participate in all leagues. Adults under the age of 21 are considered a junior member by our regional and national governing bodies, so they have the option of joining the club as a junior or student member, with limited access to our member leagues.
Membership Categories
The Rochester Curling Club has several membership categories to fit a variety of individual needs.
- Introductory members are first-year curlers
- Intermediate members are in their second and third years as curlers
- Full members have been curling more than three years, at our club or as transfers from other clubs
- Daytime members are those who have been curling as full members, but only want to curl in our daytime leagues
- Student members are matriculated students at local colleges or universities, and participate in the University program
Curlers who come to us with previous curling experience typically join as a full member, but may be admitted as an intermediate member. For most of these categories, we offer a discount for any spouse/domestic partner who joins with their partner. And for those who want to be part of this great community, but don't plan on playing regularly in a league, we also offer two categories of social membership: one includes limited league curling, and one is purely social with no curling privileges.
