Open House

Get swept up in Curling! Rochester Curling Club announces open house

THE OPEN HOUSE IS FULLY BOOKED - Please return to this page in the fall as we may have an open house again

As the nation’s fascination with Olympic curling approaches full fervor, the Rochester Curling Club is inviting the public to come out and try it for themselves.  On Saturday, March 8th from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM our club members will provide an introduction to the sport and a chance to try it out.  We will accept up to 16 attendees every half hour.  The number of participants is being limited to ensure the best possible experience, and reservations are required.

The cost for the open house is $5 per person, and $10 per family (2 adults and up to 3 children).   The club can only accept cash or checks for this event, which will be collected upon arrival.

To sign up send an email with your contact information and preferred time slot to: openhouse@rochestercurling.org or call and leave a message at (585) 50-CURL1 (585-502-8751).  Your reservation is not confirmed until you are contacted by the club.

Please plan to arrive about 10 minutes before your scheduled time.  To save even more time, down load and fill out the participant release form found at: http://rochestercurling.org/?q=content/private-parties.  This site also has great information on what to expect at the club.  Be sure to wear loose-fitting warm clothes, stretchy warm-up pants work well, the temperature on the ice is about 38 degrees.  For footwear, bring clean athletic shoes for the ice, low top sneakers are recommended as you will need ankle flexibility to throw the stones.

The club is located at 71 Deep Rock Road.  Deep rock is off of Brooks Ave, about half a mile from the airport.

Good curling to all!
